rain and jewelry

I feel that I should be posting more about what's going on over here in my little corner of the world and not just blogging fun stuff, but there's really isn't a lot going on. Adam is working hard and almost done the semsester. His final exams are next week and then we have a week off before he starts his third year.

Our week off is going to be jammed packed of non-school things. It will be great. Adam and are going to a concert in Seattle to see Adam's favourtie band, Dream Theater. Then the next day we will be driving home to Canada to visit my parents. It will be a short trip, but I'm so looking forward to it. I miss Canada. I hope Lizzy travels ok though. At least we will have the portable DVD player to keep her distracted.

We were teased last week with a beautiful day of 27 celsius (80 for all the americans). But sadly it only lasted a day and it has been raining (and occasionally snowing and hailing) since then. If it's not going to be nice for a while, then the weather shouldn't tease me like that... really! We were out playing soccer and having a blast in the warm weather then.... just kidding! It's going to keep raining and raining and raining and hailing and raining. I hope I see some blue sky soon.

Ok, one more fun thing...

I found a link through a friend to a new jewlery shop and they are having a contest! Yeah free stuff! I like her jewelry and thought I would give it a try, but it order to enter I have to put a link on my blog to hers. No problem.

So if you want to check it out, just follow this link to Tickled Pink! and you'll find the link to her new etsy shop Sass and Savvy Jewelry. If you like what you see, you can enter too... but only until this Saturday!

Book Tag

I had a friend post something called a Tag that I have never seen before. This one looked kind of fun. I think what happens is that I post something and then name five people, and then they post their own version of it (if they want). If I tag you, you don't have to do this if you don't want to. I used Northanger Abbey. It was the closest book to me and it is the book that my Relief Society is reading this month for a book club. I haven't started yet, but I have read it before. I think it is the most underappreciated Jane Austen book. It was one of her first that she wrote, but wasn't published until after she died. You can tell by reading it, that Northanger Abbey was one of her earlier books. The first time I read it, I didn't like the main character. I thought she was silly. But my second read (and my third) I liked her a lot better and enjoyed the book immensely Also, the new BBC version that aired on PBS in January is really good. Northanger Abbey is quite different than any other Austen book and makes it that much more intruiging. Anyway, back to the Tag...

Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog
5. Tag 5 people

Book: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

"The utmost care could not always secure the most valuable fruits."

Tag: Emily, Crystal... I guess that's all because I don't have any other friends on blogs! (besides Kim who already has this on her blog).

Jane Austen Heroine

So I took a Which Jane Austen Heroine Are You Quiz again. It can be fun sometimes to compare yourself to a fictional character. I took a different quiz before and came out as Catherine Morland from Northanger Abbey and can similarities there. The results of this quiz....

You Are...Elinor Dashwood!

You are Elinor Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are practical, circumspect, and discreet. Though you are tremendously sensible and allow your head to rule, you have a deep, emotional side that few people often see.

I am Elinor Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

So what do you think? Am I more like Elinor or Catherine?
