Cupcakes and a little more Wicked

Here are a few new pictures that I finally got on my computer and some from friends. Enjoy!

Kathy and I out front in Portland just after seeing Wicked. It was so awesome!

You can see my huge belly here.

The stage before the show opened. That's a map of Oz on a screen that lifted later. On top is a metal dragon that moved and had glowing eyes. I wanted the dragon to breathe fire - I was disapointed.
We got in trouble for taking this picture. It's all copyrighted and apparently we weren't allowed any pictures. Oops!

For St. Patrick's day Lizzy and I got together with some friends in the ward. We made cupcakes and decorated T-shirts. Lizzy also got to make licorice and fruit loop necklaces and bracelets. Those didn't last too long!

Showing off her cupcake!

Dress up with her friend.

Being cute.

Blossoms!!! Hooray!!!

Yesterday I noticed that the cherry trees are starting to bloom! Happy happy day! They are so fragrant too! I just wanted to pluck off a branch and take it home so my whole house would smell like cherry blossoms. Maybe spring really is coming!

Wicked is Awesome!

My friend Kathy and I went to Portland last night and saw "Wicked" at the Keller Auditorium and it was absolutely awesome! We loved it. The music was great and the costumes and stage were fabulous.
Here is a quick plot (courtesy of Wikipedia) for those who are unfamiliar with the play:

"Wicked tells the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. Their friendship struggles through their opposing personalities and viewpoints, rivalry over the same love-interest, their reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's public fall from grace. The plot is set mostly before Dorothy's arrival from Kansas, and includes several references to well-known scenes and dialogue in the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz as a backstory."
Sounds very serious like that, but it is in fact a very funny play and very clean. We enjoyed it immensely and I will be buying the music. If you get a chance to see this one, make sure you do! It's awesome!

If I had a million dollars...

I was singing in the kitchen and Lizzy decided to join in. It went like this:

Allison: If I had a million dollars...

Lizzy: I'd buy stuff at the store.

Allison: If I had a million dollars...

Lizzy: But you don't.

Here comes the sun... maybe!

Yesterday was a beautiful day! The sun was shining and warm and Lizzy and I went out to the park. We haven't been out for a while since it has been chilly and wet. It was a good thing we made it out to the park because it rained all night and now everything looks soggy and grey. Lizzy loves being outside and loves going on the "fast swings" which are the kiddie swings where she can swing super high without worry.

I hope the sun comes out again soon and stays. I'm looking forward to spring staying and the flowers coming. I love Oregon in the spring.

I had an ultrasound on Friday and will have to scan the pictures of our little baby for all to see. So watch for those pictures coming soon.

Trains and Love

Valentine's weekend, I got to go home to Canada and visit with my family and see my brother sealed in the temple! I had a wonderful visit.

Adam wasn't able to come with me, but Lizzy and I took the train with a friend and her two kids from Portland to Shelby, MT. It was a long 18 hour ride, overnight. The nice thing about the train is that the kids can get up and walk around and they're not strapped in to a carseat the whole trip. The bad thing is it takes so long and Lizzy got sick. I think she got some motion sickness and a lot of trouble with naseau and throwing up. It was not very pleasant. But as soon as we were at my parents house in Raymond, Alberta, Lizzy felt a whole lot better and didn't throw up until we were on the train for our return journey (even though I gave her Gravol this time). Happily she is doing well now and I'm pretty sure it was just from the train.

Lizzy had a lot of fun playing with her cousins (my sister's two girls) and they got along really well. Hereis Claire and Lizzy dressed in their identical princess dresses and crowns having a snack. This is later while having a tea party together. Poor little Brynn would have joined them, but she was really sick all week and just held on to her Mom.
This is my brother Eldon and his new wife Elizabeth cutting the cake at their reception.

Lizzy wanted to cut the cake too and insisted that she help Uncle Eldon.

She loves her Uncle! And she thought it was great that he was getting married to someone who shared her name. She calls her new Auntie "Big Elizabeth."

The happy couple.

I wish them the best of luck in their new life together. It is still hard to believe that my little brother is married!
Congratulations!

Princess Lizzy

This is what Lizzy wears almost every day. She will get up in the morning, go to her "princess trunk" and pick out a dress, matching slippers, and accessories. This is her second princess outfit today. She always wants to wear her princess clothes to her friend's house or out shopping, but is only allowed to wear them at home.

Lizzy got these from her Gramma and Poppa for Christmas and they are being well used. The crown is from Uncle Travis, and she often sleeps in it.

She loves being a princess!
