This is Lizzy watching a movie on her little DVD player. I thought this was funny because she turned the DVD player to the side and decided to crouch down beside it.
One day, Lizzy decided that she needed to wear her bee costume. It was a nice day and she wanted to eat lunch outside, so I let her.
Macaroni eating, Big Bird book reading, Lizzy-bee.
P.S. She will get mad if you call her Lizzy-bee. "I not Lizzy-bee! Just Lizzy!"
All right, now we come to the Strawberry Festival. Before you get your hopes up, it wasn't spectacular. It wasn't even that great, although it sounds like it would be.
The festival was really talked up. We were told there were going to be games and things for the kids, free tastes and a whole bunch of fun. First it took twice as long to get there as we expected. We had to go way out of town and then on a dirt road up a mountain for 10 miles. We got lost a little bit and had to turn around twice. We even asked someone the way who said, "Strawberry Festival? If I knew where that was, I'd be there right now!"
Thanks for your help.
We finally got there and there were no activites or games for the kids except face painting, but they charged $3 for half a face and $5 for the whole face. Yeah right. Also, no free samples, and just some booths selling flowers, jewellry and garden type stuff. The fresh strawberries were really expensive and not worth our paying that much. The one redeeming quality was the strawberry shortcake. Yumm!
My friend, Kathy, treated us to an expensive strawberry shortcake and decided on the family size. This is Tiffany displaying the wares. It was huge!! "Look at the size of that thing! It's like an orange on a toothpick!" (So I Married An Axe Murderer) Well, not really, but if you have seen that movie, you'll be laughing along with me.
Lizzy wanted to feed Tiffany and it was pretty funny. So funny in fact, that some random lady came over and asked to take pictures too. Then I realized later that it wasn't my adorable daughter that attracted her attention, but the size of the dessert.
Despite being disappointed we really enjoyed stuffing our faces with strawberry shortcake and the kids had a blast running around in the trees and in the sun. I put a flower in Lizzy's hair and she declared she was a princess.

I guess we had fun in a way, but Kathy and I decided it was too much hassle to go again (and way too expensive). Next time we want strawberry shortcake, we'll make it ourselves.
The End.

Man what a letdown!!! Good thing the cake was yummy! I love Lizzy's bee costume! I think it's funny that you call her Lizzy-bee! When Lizzie (my sister) was little, I used to call her Lizzabee all the time. It's such a cute nickname for Elizabeth. And especially if they wear bee costumes! :)
Ya, I love the bee costume! The dessert does look great, but so sad it was kinda dumb and expensive. I hate when you get a let down. But always nice to eat yummy food!
Awe! She's so cute in her bee costume! That's too bad about the festival - but that cake looks so delicious!!
Too bad Lizzy doesn't like "Lizzy-bee" - it's so cute!!
