Varilux Optometry Suberbowl Music Video

"Hey! You're at the Varilux Optometry Supberbowl!"
That line from the "Varilux" song has been running through my head since Saturday night. Okay, let's see if I can explain this properly without being too confusing...

In July there is an Optometry conferenc in Seattle. At this conference there is going to be a competition for students called the Optomety Superbowl. There is one (or two, I can't remember) representative from each school to compete for prizes and money etc. It is a knowledge based competition where the competitors are asked questions about optometry. Varilux is sponsoring the Superbowl. Varilux is some company that deals with optometric equipment or drugs or something.

Each year, Varilux hires a production company to film a video that explains the rules of the competition and the different schools take turns acting in that video. This year it is Pacific University's turn. The band that Adam is in, The Near Triad, (they performed at OptoRock, see earlier post) wrote a song incorporating the Superbowl rules. So, Varilux paid for the production company to make a music video of that song for the competition.

Saturday they filmed the music video and we had lots of fun! They bribed us with food so lots of extras would show up from Adam's class. All the wives and kids etc. were allowed to come too.
Some of the pictures are from my camera phone, so sorry if they are low quality.

Adam, Guy, and Ben rocking out!

Adam shredding on his guitar, and the drummer in the background (I don't know his name).

Some more awesome guitar playing. Oh ya baby!

The crowd of Op students going wild!

More playing.
My friend Michelle was down that weekend from Vancouver, BC and got to be in the video too. We had such a fun visit and it was so good to see eachother.
Tiffany, Michelle and I.
Adam and I during a break between takes. They must have played that song at least 20 times. But that's what it takes to get the right shots.

Oooh.... shiny guitar under all those lights.
Lizzy and I dancing. She actually fell asleep about half an hour after this picture. I couldn't believe that she could fall asleep, it was so loud in there. She didn't have a nap that day so she must of been exhausted.

Overall Saturday was a super fun day and we had an awesome time. Adam was filming almost all day and was gone in the morning. I had a dance recital for my Tap Class and did that in the afternoon (sorry no pictures of that). Right after the recital we headed over to the school where we filmed in a classroom. Then we went to the small venue where we had free supper and then filmed some more with the band on stage. It was long day but we had a blast. When we get a copy of the actual music video I'll try and post it!

That's awesome! Way to go Adam and The Near Triad. :) And how did your recital go? That's cool that you're doing that.

By the way, technical question here...How do you download pictures from your phone? Do you have a cord that plugs your phone into the computer or do you do it from your cell phone company's website or something? We were trying to do it with our Verizon phones and finally did it through their website but I wasn't sure if that costs money or not...? So anyway, I was just curious how you do it with your phone.

Shaille, I have a USB cord that connects to my phone, it's really handy. That's the only way that I have downloaded pictures.
